Pear rootstock
Pyrodwarf(S)
Vegetatively propagated Pyrus communis
rootstock
Pyrodwarf(S) is a Pyrus communis clone
originating from the crossing "Gute Luise (Bonne Louise d'Avranches)" x
"Old Home". It was
developped at the research institute at Geisenheim and is marketed by
the CDB.
Pyrodwarf(S) is especially suited for sites, which cause
problems to quince rootstocks.
Pyrodwarf(S) grows less vigorous than pear seedling,
similar to quince BA29 and quince A.
Concerning
cropping potential and specific yields, Pyrodwarf(S)
does not equal quince C. Early yields are achieved with weak
growth on dry sites.
